Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actor, singer, and dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway role, she was the role of Essie Carmichael in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. She was awarded an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Play in the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside famous directors and actors on stage and screen. Ashford continues to build on her award-winning career with her upcoming projects. Ashford's next project will be an exclusive Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford's current project includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film will be released in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford's Broadway comeback will be on March 20, 2023. He plays alongside Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal which was involving Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. Ashford was a part of two seasons in the CBS popular comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Additional Broadway roles include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she was awarded a second Tony Award nomination. Ashford was born and raised in Denver and currently splits her time between Los Angeles, and New York.
