Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, Puy-deDomme France in August 9th 1976. Audrey is the largest child among four children. Her parents as a dentist and teacher, were aware of and supported their daughter's enthusiasm for acting and drama on a young stage. Their support was enough to overcome her original desire to become primatologist. Her fame grew as an actress in her early years and with enormous popularity and success. Before she began to pursue her acting career, she took part in Jeunes Premiers which was a French talent search TV program which was a part of Canal+ in 1998. Also, she was awarded the Best Young Actress for her performance in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Although she studied at The Institut Catholique de Paris and went to church as a child, Tautou has distanced herself from this upbringing, stating that she's not Catholic. Modeling and acting are interspersed. She became the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc Chanel, and is known as the Chanel Muse. Additionally, she is a keen interest in photography and recently exhibited her work during the Arles Festival, titled Superficial. Her work is focused on celebrities and popularity. The exhibition also includes a series self-portraits and a special focus on journalists who have closely scrutinized Tautou following her rapid rise in stardom after Amelie. Audrey Tautou's international success and fame soared after her appearance in the film as Amelie Poulain's leading woman in Le Fabuleux of Amelie Poulain. Amelie won international acclai the box office and was acclaimed at awards ceremonies all over the world. It is the most successful French language film to date in the US. After this huge success, Tautou was later cast in numerous films, including British dramatics, such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Long Sunday of fiancailles. Tautou also appeared alongside Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
