Nadia Comaneci - (born on 12 November 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti, Romania), Romanian gymnast. First gymnast in history to earn a 10. competing in the Olympics. Bela Karrolyi, the Romanian gymnastics instructor, who was later Comaneci's coach who first came across Comaneci at the age of six. She took part in the Romanian Junior Games and finished 13th. In 1970, she won the title. At her first international event in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior event for countries of the communist bloc she won three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974 she was the all-around junior champion. In her very first competition in senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva, a Russian athlete, won five gold medals aswell with one silver. In 1976 she became the first person in the world to utilize a reversed double salto for a dismount off the parallel bars. As a teenager she began her career in the entertainment field performing as figure skater. Together with her younger twin brother Nina Wayne she was part of a traveling show called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol ventured into the entertainment business during her teenage years. Her first job was as a figure skater, performing alongside her twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show known as Ice Capades. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating shows.
